About Amina Restaurant & Lounge

Amina, Wilson’s inaugural restaurant venture, sets the stage with dinner, soon to expand into weekend brunch and lunch. The establishment boasts a full bar with a specialty in craft beers, cocktails fashioned from local spirits, and an eclectic collection of global wines.

Named after Wilson’s daughter, Amina, the restaurant draws inspiration from an ancient Nigerian warrior goddess. The interior echoes the valor of an African female warrior with intimate gold designs woven into African décor and themes throughout.

Residing in Cheltenham with husband Shawn Bell and their four children, Wilson embarked on her culinary journey after initiating her first childcare center in 2008. The endeavor grew into three, including two in Philadelphia and one in Willow Grove. Meanwhile, Harmon, a decorated chef from Gouldtown, NJ, the oldest black community in the U.S., solidified his award-winning status in New York City. His tenure as the Executive Chef at Philadelphia’s Water Works Restaurant from 2007 to 2012 lends credence to his culinary prowess.

The dinner menu promises a symphony of flavors: Deviled Eggs, Peri Peri Wings, Clams Casino, and more. Sandwiches span from Nigerian Hot Chicken to Amina Dry-Aged Burger, and entrees encompass NOLA Style Gumbo and Grilled Lamb T-Bone Steak Tower. Starters range from $8 to $16, sandwiches from $15 to $20, and entrees from $18 to $40. Guided by Executive Chef Darryl Harmon, Amina beckons as a vibrant culinary haven.
